Our games can be ran covid secure for school activity and reward days.
As readers of our blogs across our three websites will know, we have instigated special cleaning programmes to make our games useable for school, college and university activity days. These measures include hand sanitising stations, cleaning schedules and staff training.
Covid Secure Schools Games
Government Guidance.
At Knockout Challenge, we keep ourselves up to date with the government guidance. More than that, Knockout Challenge director Phil Pike, through his association with the Amusement Devices Safety Council (ADSC), helped write the industry guidance for fairground industry. This guidance includes the use of inflatables.
We have constructed a special Covid Risk Management document which is available to customers. This has been also ran by HSE for comment to make sure that it covers all relevant and appropriate points. We have also crated a special covid advice page of our website for teams to help them understand the measures we have introduce.
Daily clean and periodic clean.
We have two types of cleaning programme for our inflatables and equipment. An initial daily clean followed by a periodic clean during the day as necessary. This is easier with school days as pupils are being kept in their year groups at present. More information about this can be found on our sister website knockoutchallenge.uk

We have a number of ways to run the games to be covid secure compliant. One thing for sure though, is that the fun and excitement of the day hasn’t been affected. Whether our games are being used for a school activity day, or school/college reward day, an induction day or for a Fresher’s Week activity, rest assured that the students will have a great-great fun day or excitement and bonding.
At Knockout Challenge, we are excited to announce that we have a new design of It’s A Knockout website all hosted a new shorter domain address. This new website has some great new images, lots of details, information and ideas, and some new videos to view. We’ve also jazzed the images up to reflect how exciting our it’s A Knockout games are ran at our events.

This version of our website you are currently viewing on and our original knockout-challenge version will still remain active as they not only still have some great informative information that is still relevant, but they also reminds everyone of some of the great past events we’ve ran our unbeatable It’s A Knockout Entertainment games packages at.
It welcoming that much of our society has been given the opportunity to return to some definition of a new “normality”. Some sectors have been relativity unaffected, others destroyed for the foreseeable future. Whilst many use the phrase “we’re all in this together”, many have sailed the storm with the benefit of a bigger boat.
We are part of the events sector (which contributes £7b a year to the UK economy). This outdoor events part of this has lost at least the whole of 2020. Not until well into 2021 will there be some return to working, and to what degree no one can yet predict.
Preparing for the future.
To help prepare for any easement, our staff have taken training in Covid and been reading up on the various pieces of guidance. We have been also researching methods of sanitisation and processes we will need to adopt.
Followers of Knockout Challenge will know that its owner Phil Pike, sits on the Amusement Device Safety Council (ADSC). This has relevance in that the inflatables we use for our games come under the guidance of HSG175 which is the same guidance that the theme parks and traveling fairs use.
The government set up 5 sector task forces to look into how the lock down could be eased by being Covid secure. However, specific guidance for traveling fairs including inflatables was not issued. We were invited by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to contribute by constructing this.
Phil Pike joined a cross-association initiative to write the covid guidance. This involved dealing with the Health & Safety Executive who are the enforcing body for non-compliance. The guidance was sent to HSE and DCMS for approval. It will also be used by local authorities and safety awareness groups for guidance.
Therefore, at Knockout Challenge we have the full idea of the virus, and what steps are needed to be able to operate inflatables in the covid climate.

We have written a Covid Risk Assessment Management document to conform with the requirement to be covid-secure. This is available in the Client Part of our website.
Covid Secure Games.
Schools, colleges & universities have the greatest freedom to use our games for their days at the moment (they’re ideal for Fresher’s Week !). With the social distancing rule being scrapped for the likes of schools, we have already had many enquiries for such days in September. We have some great discounts available at the moment. Also by running split sessions with fewer numbers in each, the games can easily be ran as FUN and covid-secure.
Small private events and team building can also use our games in the knowledge that they are covid-secure. Our Mini Knockout is great for this. Once more, we have some great discounts at the moment for the tail-end of 2020. Please Contact Us for details

New Website On Its’ Way !
Please keep a watch out for our new website design ! To be announced soon, it has lots of great colourful images, ideas and information. Like our Knockout Challenge Facebook page to be fully informed when it’s live.
Like everyone else in the amusement, outside events and fairground industry, we have been forced to cease operation for the present because of the Covid-19 virus.
We are of course closely following and reading up on the government updated guidance. During this time we are instigating staff training, research and initiating measures that we hope will alleviate any concerns for when lockdown measures are reduced sufficiently to allow us to resume our services.
We have been in contact with all our 2020 clients that were booked in for the start and middle portion of our operating season. So far 90% are planning to reschedule to later in the year or for 2021.
We plan to issue an official statement here once we have secured government help and the road-plan timetable to the lifting of restrictions becomes more apparent.

Our last blog of the year is a roundup and look back at our 2019 season and the fun we had providing our It’s A knockout games up and down the UK during the past year. As you can imagine, we’ve racked up a few miles this year, touring as far north as Scotland, down to the Channel Isles and Jersey. We’ve really enjoyed our travels, meeting lots of great people, and attending a variety of different types of days, events and festivals.

As the roundup continues, we must add that the charity days are as usual some of our favourites. We love it when the teams come in fancy dress, and it’s great that charities use us to help raise money and awareness for their causes. For more information please see our Charities Page.

Kids love our games too. We’ve attended many schools, colleges, universities and youth camps in 2019. Our biggest was for CamJam (Cambridge Scouts Jamboree). At this day over 2,000 scouts took part in our games ! And as with all our sets of games, no one got left out. Everyone in every team took part in every game.

As our season draws to a close, we look back at some more of the teams that took part in our It’s A Knockout’s in 2019. We’ve had some great teams taking part this year. Some have turned up in fancy dress attire, some not. Although we’re always pleased to see teams all dressed up for the games, some of our funniest moments this year have been with teams that have turned up in just t-shirts ready for some fun.

It tends to be the charity days where we get the best fancy dressed teams as they really get into the fun of the day. Usually bringing cheerleaders, supporters, mascots and designing their own fun Joker Card (which they “play” to get double-points on a game of their choice).

Of course, teams that attend our days get some bonus extra points for coming all dressed up for the games. So whether you come in just colour coordinated t-shirts, or, get really into it as some of the teams have do so in these images, you’re set for a great day of funny and games taking part in a Knockout Challenge “It’s A Knockout”.

With the 2019 season in full swing, we thought we’d share a few images of some of the teams that have taken part in our events so far this year. You’ll see from the images that some have really “gone to town” with taking part in some type of fancy dress attire. We love teams in fancy dress, it ads colour to the day, and helps us with the scoring of the games.

The images in this blog are from events we have been held at that were as far north as Scotland, and as far south as Jersey (in the Channel Islands). Teams that are in fancy dress get extra fun points added to their score, also designing, making and bringing a Joker card, team Cheerleaders and mascots gain extra points too.

If you’re taking part in one of our fun It’s A Knockout’s please use these images as inspiration for your own team fancy dress. Although just colour coordinated t-shirts are fine, why not jazz them up and ad some nick-names on the back? It give’s our commentator-compere a great opportunity to interact with you.

Remember, that a fancy dress costume should be easy to move around in, you don’t want it restricting you on the games. Also, no full arm/face painting please as it leaves streaks on the inflatables. (A little bit of face only paint may be okay). No sharp objects please, beware pirates teams, no swords! And remember “modesty underwear” in case you costume gets ripped from all the running/diving/scrambling through the inflatables.

Our Mini Knockout 2019 is a great set of games for any small team building style event. It has six colourful games, and the fun lasts about around 2 hours. It has a great mix of games and is still loads of fun, but on a smaller scale to our Bronze Show which travels on an HGV.
The starting price for the Mini Knockout covers up to 8 teams of 8 taking part, but more can easily be added.

We offer different sized sets of games because sometimes people don’t need or require a full sized It’s A Knockout games setup for an event. If you just wish for a couple of hours of activity then the Mini Knockout is ideal. Three of the games are dry, and the other three can be ran wet (or bubbly). As you can see form the top image, ideally the Mini Knockout needs about the size of three tennis courts in room.

This set of games is great for small team building days and small private events. The games are easily scale-able for adrenaline according to the type or level of teams that are taking part.

ADDITIONS & VARIATIONS.
The Mini Knockout can also be expanded to a Mini Plus version which has 8 games (covering up to 12 teams taking part). This version is an ideal super-budget priced knockout suitable for small charity fundraising days or village shows. Also, for team building events there is the option to add five of our Wacky School Sports Day games giving a great balance of knockout and sports day games that lasts three hours.
